  8. Take it from someone whose whole life is pretty much defined by depression, sometimes instead of waiting for someone to come uplift you, you've to be your own hero.

If you do have someone that helps & cares about you, that's a luxury, not a necessity. You are more than enough.

Hijack your brain from the cusps of depression to use the time you're feeling slightly better to work on activities that'll bestow their rewards for you to reap when you're sad.

Make compensatory & healthy coping mechanisms & acquire outlets to vent your frustation that won't damage anything you can't afford giving up instead of letting that frustation arising from insecurities run awry & then affect your own psyche or worse, someone you care about.

The way I deal with it is I rationalise. To me being aware that the way I'm feeling right now could be simply unreasonable because my mind itself is in a bad place & that's corrupting all my thoughts helps immensely.

Since this is also my area of study, depression is nothing more than molecular changes in the brain against life/living. It signals that you're unfit & your body is crying out for help. It could be your hormones, your diet, etc.

What I mean to say is that it's not a binary state of being, like if it were just an on or off switch, it's varying & what you've to do to gain command over it is to expose it to certain stimuli & monitor the reactions to see how trying out new things affect you.

Not just in terms of activities like taking a walk in a park but also anywhere you can make changes & notice. For eg., I've recently started supplementing vitamin B12 orally (there's a strip that disintegrates under your tongue or drops too) which when placed under the tongue is absorbed directly to the bloodstream hence skipping the possibility of your digestive system not being able to absorb it.

I'm already feeling much better & I know it won't last. But that's alright. Another day we wake up, another fight, otherwise wouldn't life be just plain & boring? Take care & remember – que sera, sera.

  9. I don’t have depression anymore but I’m still perceptive to have it soon again, if anyone has extreme depression I just say it’s ok because it’s worth fighting for and it’s ok if you are depressed YOU WILL GET THROUGH IT EVENTUALLY <3
(Btw nice haircut Charlie you look so different compared to before)
